Certified Residential Specialist
BIL Willis, as a native Oregonian, has lived most of his life in Oregon. He graduated from Gresham Union High School in 1964, and from Oregon State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. BIL spent a little over two years in the U.S. Army as a aide-de-camp to two general officers and as a company commander.
BIL worked in forestry for about 10 years, including owning his own small logging and consulting forestry business. Going into real estate in 1976, BIL is now associated with ERA Freeman & Associates in Gresham, Oregon where he is the principal broker and co-owner. Since receiving his Washington real estate managing broker’s license, he is also affiliated with 20/20 Properties in Vancouver, Washington.
BIL is active in the community as well as several REALTOR organizations. He served as 1989 President of the Greater Gresham Board of REALTORS, 1997, 2011 and 2017 President of the Oregon Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists (CRS), as well as serving on the boards of directors of the Portland Youth Philharmonic Assn., the Healing Hope Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship in NE Portland, Hoodview Junior Academy, the National Association of REALTORS, Oregon Assn, of REALTORS, and the Portland Metropolitan Assn, of REALTORS, the East Metro Assn, of REALTORS, the Board of Managers for the Oregon Real Estate Forms Corp., LLC, as a Regional Vice President for the Council of Residential Specialists and currently serves on the Regional Multiple Listing Service Board of Directors serving as chairman in 2021. In 2014, BIL was recognized as REALTOR of the Year for the East Metro Association of REALTORS and in 2018 was honored with the highly coveted CRS of the Year award for the state of Oregon.
BIL and his wife, Nancy, live on their tree farm near Corbett. They are active in the community and regularly support the Healing Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in NE Portland where BIL serves in various responsibilities. Their hobbies include horses, rock hounding, music, hiking, gardening, traveling, and people. Currently their passion is singing in a gospel quintet called Homeward traveling the Pacific Northwest with the good news of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
BIL is constantly educating himself; he has received the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, the highest attainable in residential real estate, as well as the Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation, the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation, the Certified Residential Broker (CRB) designation, the Graduate of the REALTORS Institute (GRI) and six real estate certifications. In December 2017 BIL obtained his Washington Real Estate Broker license and in 2018 he obtained his Washington Managing Broker license. All of this means that his clients can be assured that BIL is well prepared to meet the challenges in any home buying or home selling scenario.
